Work can be complicated. Managing people can be even more complicated.
Sometimes you don’t need another course, a management model or a list of things you should be doing differently. You just need some space to step back, think things through and talk to someone who isn’t involved in the situation.
That’s where coaching and mentoring can help.
Coaching gives you the opportunity to explore what’s happening, challenge your thinking and work out what you want to do next.
That might mean building confidence, dealing with a difficult situation, stepping into a new role, making a decision or simply figuring out why something isn’t working as well as you’d like.
We might explore:
Mentoring can add something slightly different — the benefit of someone else’s experience, perspective and practical advice when you need it.
There’s no one-size-fits-all programme and no expectation that you arrive knowing exactly what you need.
We start with a conversation about what’s happening, what you’d like to change and what would be useful.
From there, sessions are shaped around you and your real-world challenges.
There might be some gentle challenge. There might be an uncomfortable question or two. There will hopefully be a few “I’d never thought about it like that” moments.
And, most importantly, you’ll leave with something you can actually do.
Coaching and mentoring can support new and aspiring managers, experienced leaders, people moving into new roles and organisations looking to develop their people.
It can be a short series of focused sessions or longer-term support. The important thing is that it works for you.
You don’t need to have a perfectly defined goal.
“I’m not quite sure what’s going on, but I know something needs to change” is a perfectly good place to start.
